Self catering holiday accommodation on Exmoor
Set within the Exmoor National Park, our historic cottages have been carefully restored to offer self catering holidays in authentically furnished and well equipped period accommodation.
Both Bury Lodge and Haddeo Cottage have large gardens and are located in the picturesque and peaceful hamlet of Bury, next to the outstandingly beautiful Haddeo Woodlands, a walker’s and rider’s paradise, we are dog friendly and pet friendly.
Bury Lodge, a Gothic gatehouse with leaded windows, sleeps 2 and is at the end of a cul-de-sac. It offers walks and rides straight out into the woods without even touching the road. It also has a studio which is ideal for the writer or artist who wants a quiet getaway. Haddeo Cottage, which sleeps 6, is scarcely 100 metres away, close to the packhorse bridge over the River Haddeo. It also has leaded windows, a large fireplace, traditional slate floor and beamed ceilings. It is very private.
In addition to the Haddeo Woodlands there are extensive walks and off-road riding throughout Exmoor - in fact 600 miles of public footpaths and bridleways. There is a thriving wildlife and plant life, including its famous red deer and purple clad moorland. Dulverton, which is only two miles’ distance, offers good restaurants and shops with local produce. The coast is 18 miles away.
The cottages are available either weekly or for short-breaks and are equally suitable for those looking for a quiet retreat or to pursue outdoor and country sports such as fishing and shooting. We offer a livery service for those looking for a riding holiday, welcome dogs and offer storage for outdoor sporting equipment such as bicycles. There is off-road parking.
